Summer Swaddlers With Matching Burp Cloths
Lot’s of babies (and babies to be) this year giving me lots of opportunities to sew for them all.
This Sunday it’s a shower for twins – a boy and a girl!
These are summer swaddling blankets (100% cotton to keep baby from over heating) with matching burp cloths. These are so easy to whip up and really so adorable. I make them out of a yard and a half of each fabric (front and back) for a nice large blanket that’s easily used later for a playmat or cape or whatever strikes a child’s fancy. I then use the scraps from evening out the blankets -since it’s impossible to get a straight cut at a commercial fabric store – to adorn burp cloths that match.
I want to point out the adorable lables that were a great freebies from Christina Williams www.christinawilliams.etsy.com

BOY
The colors of the blankets are so bright I never bother wrapping the blankets.
